  • Regional Alumni Receptions throughout Georgia and north Florida, offering an opportunity to meet and network with other VSU Alumni;

On Homecoming Weekend each year, alumni are invited to return to campus for an exciting weekend. Events include:

Alumni may apply for borrowing privileges at the circulation desk in the Odum Library on main campus.

Career counseling and services offered to all VSU Alumni. Career testing is a free service provided to alumni up to one semester after graduation. After the one-semester grace period, alumni receive a discount off the fee assessed to cover the cost of the testing materials. Please contact the Career Opportunities office for details at (229) 333-5942.

Services Offered:

Career Counseling – one-on-one counseling designed to assist alumni in setting career goals and job search. Career tests are available to help identify interests, skills, and values.

Seminars and Workshops – topics include job search strategies, interview preparation, attending graduate school, career fair networking, dining etiquette, and more. Topics will vary on occasion as new programming is developed or in demand.

Resume Assistance – alumni may submit their resumes for a traditional critique or bring a drafts of their resumes by the office during our resume walk-in hours for some quick feedback. 

Mock Interviews – practice interviews designed to help alumni polish their interviewing skills.

Employer Listings – info on employers who have an interest in hiring students/alumni of VSU, some of which may come on campus during the semester and others who have come in the past.

Job Postings – alumni are encouraged to register with the Career Opportunities office through Blazer Briefcase – an online full-time job listing site where alumni can post their resumes and view job listings marketed to VSU students/alumni. 

On-Campus Interviews – employers schedule times throughout the semester to interview students/alumni interested in working with their company. These opportunities will vary by semester depending on employer requests for interviews. 

Career Expos/Networking Events – alumni are encouraged to attend the bi-annual Career Expos and any scheduled information sessions employers may host throughout the semester.
