The G.O.L.D (Graduate of the Last Decade) Award

Each year the association will honor one to three distinguished alumni. Nominations are accepted from VSU faculty, administration, staff, alumni and community members. The final selection for the G.O.L.D. awards will be made by a vote of the Valdosta State Alumni Association board members. 

The Distinguished Alumni Award

Each year the association will honor six distinguished alumni, one from each college (College of Mathematics and Science, College of the Arts, Langdale College of Business Administration, Dewar College of Education and Human Services, College of Nursing and Health Sciences, College of Humanities and Social Sciences). Nominations are accepted from VSU faculty, administration, staff, alumni and community members. The final selection for the Distingished Alumni from each college will be made by a vote of the Valdosta State Alumni Association board members.

Nomination Information for Awards

Nomination forms will be accepted annually. Online nomination forms will be considered for the award. Recipients of the VSU Alumni Association Graduate of the Last Decade (G.O.L.D) and the Distinguished Alumni Awards are expected to attend the VSU Homecoming activities for their selection year. Recipients will not be recognized unless they attend the Distinguished Alumni Dinner and homecoming football game. The VSU Alumni Association does take into consideration illness or emergencies. The Alumni Executive Board reserves the right to select an alternate nominee should the original nominee be unable to attend the required VSU Homecoming events.
